PT Ciputra Property is ready to invest Rp 3 trillion (US$311.1 million) for the development of a new resort in Bali next year. The new resort, comprising five five-star hotels, a mall and an art and cultural center, will stand on an 80-hectare plot of land owned by the company, as reported by kompas.com on Wednesday. It does not specifically mention the location of the land.
President director of Ciputra Property, Chandra Ciputra, said the company would be working with a local company in Bali for the resort project. “We hope construction will start next year,” said Chandra. Ciputra Property is known for its domination in the development of Jakarta’s residential and superblocks, consisting of hotels, offices and malls. This resort will be the initial diversification for Ciputra Property into tourism resort development.
